“I Create Awesome Things”: Helping Children Understand the Power of Their Mind

I Create Awesome Things

“I Create Awesome Things”: Helping Children Understand the Power of Their Mind

What if a child started their day believing something simple, yet powerful:

“I create awesome things.”

Not just saying it,
but actually feeling it.

Because when a child begins to understand this idea, their entire experience of the day can change.

Children Don’t Realize the Power They Have

Most children move through their day reacting to what happens around them.

If something is fun, they feel happy.
If something goes wrong, they feel frustrated.

Everything feels external.

It can seem like:

👉 Life is happening to them

But there is something they are not always taught:

👉 Their thoughts and focus shape how they experience everything

A Different Way to See the Day

When a child repeats:

“I create awesome things”

they are being introduced to a new way of thinking.

Not that they control everything around them…

…but that they can influence:

• how they feel
• how they respond
• what they focus on
• what they expect

This simple shift moves a child from:

👉 Passive → active
👉 Reactive → intentional

Why This Affirmation Matters

“I create awesome things” is not just about creativity.

It’s about helping children begin their day with:

• positive expectation
• openness
• emotional readiness

Instead of wondering what might go wrong, they begin to think:

👉 “Something good can happen today.”

And that belief changes how they move through the world.

Preparing the Body First

Before the mind can focus, the body needs to settle.

Simple stretching and movement help children:

• release tension
• wake up their body
• become more present

This step may seem small, but it prepares children to fully receive the practice that follows.

Slowing Down to Go Inward

Breathing is where the shift begins.

When children close their eyes and take slow, deep breaths, they begin to:

• quiet the noise around them
• feel calm in their body
• reconnect with themselves

In this moment, they are no longer distracted.

They are present.

And presence creates awareness.

When Words Become Real

Now the affirmation returns:

“I create awesome things.”

But this time, it’s different.

The child is calm.
The mind is quiet.

And the words begin to connect with feeling.

As they imagine something joyful. A surprise, a happy moment, something exciting, the Affirmation becomes more than words.

It becomes:

  • Belief
  • Emotion
  • Expectation

The Mindful V™ Method: Teaching Children to Create From Within

This practice reflects the foundation of the Mindful V™ Method, a simple and powerful approach that helps children understand how their inner world shapes their daily experience.

It is built on three essential elements:

1. Affirmations – Guiding the Mind

Affirmations help children recognize that their thoughts can be chosen.

When they repeat:

“I create awesome things”

they begin to direct their thinking toward possibility, positivity, and confidence.

This shapes how they approach their day.

2.  Meditation – Creating Awareness

Meditation helps children slow down and notice what is happening inside them.

Through breathing and stillness, they begin to:

• feel calm
• observe their thoughts
• understand their emotions

This creates space – the space where change becomes possible.

3. Gratitude – Focusing on the Good

Gratitude teaches children to notice what is already positive.

Instead of focusing only on what they don’t like, they begin to see:

• what feels good
• what brings joy
• what they appreciate

This shifts their emotional state and builds balance.

How It All Comes Together

When affirmation, meditation, and gratitude are practiced together, children begin to experience something powerful:

  • They feel calmer
  • They think more positively
  • They respond more intentionally

They begin to understand:

👉 “I can influence how I feel and what I experience.”

Small Practice, Big Impact

This entire practice can take just a few minutes.

But when done consistently, it helps children build:

• Emotional awareness
• Confidence
• Resilience
• A positive mindset

Over time, these small moments create lasting change.

A Gentle Reminder

Children are always learning how to understand the world and themselves.

When they learn that their thoughts, feelings, and focus matter, they begin to see life differently.

And when a child truly believes:

“I create awesome things”

they begin to move through their day with:

  •  Confidence
  • Openness
  • A sense of possibility

And that is something they carry with them far beyond childhood.
